Coventry's car plants come to a full stop

Car production in Coventry — Britain's major motor city — was brought to a complete standstill by strikes yesterday.
Not a single car was turned out on the day shift.
At the Standard Triumph plant, 1000 men were laid off because of a massive car parking problem.
A strike by forty delivery drivers meant that the factory was “bursting" with new ears. The drivers decided to return to work tomorrow.
Jaguar's Brown Lane factory was idle because of an unofficial stoppage by men working on the new XJ6. Over 1000 men have been laid off .
