RECALL OF 17,000 BY MORRIS MOTORS
FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT
OXFORD. APRIL 8
The 17,000 car workers at Morris Motors. Ltd., Cowley, who were laid off because of the strike at the British Motor Corporation's Longbridge factory last week, are being recalled this weekend.
About 600 men were also made idle at the Pressed Steel Company's Cowley and Swindon factories. A company spokesman at Cowley said after the Morris Motors announcement: "I don't think there will be much change in the manufacturing position on Monday as far as we are concerned."
