B.M.C. MAY MAKE CARS IN SCOTLAND

The British Motor Corporation, which is already spending £11,250,000 at Bathgate, West Lothian, on building a plant producing lorries, diesel engines and tractors, may also produce cars in Scotland, if the existing venture succeeds, it was announced in Glasgow last night.

Mr G. W. Harriman, chairman of B.M.C., said:  "Bathgate is going along on schedule. We have high hopes about it. If things go to our original plans there is no reason why we should not do more. It depends on all of us-trade unions and management-to make a success of the Bathgate enterprise."
