TOO HARD PAINT' STARTS CAR WORKERS' STRIKE

Seven hundred men employed on the Morris Oxford assembly and paint lines were sent home from the Cowley factory of Morris Motors, Ltd., at midday today because of an unofficial strike by 27 men employed in the paint shop, which brought all assembly work on Morris Oxford cars to a standstill. The men who walked out were " rubbers ". who sand down car paintwork. The reason given for the stoppage was that the paint was "too hard to rub "
