Morris car men to resume work

28 March 1959

A resumption of work at Morris Commercial Cars, Ltd, will take place next Wednesday, and the dispute will now be dealt with through constitutional procedure, as a result of an understanding reached between the Employers' National Federation and the Electrical Trades Union.

The strike started nearly six weeks ago when 32 maintenance electricians refused to work with a non-unionist at the Adderley Park factory, Birmingham. Some 1,700 British Motor Corporation workers were made idle by the dispute.
