jaguar x type 2 d 2006

When I turn ignition without starting engine instrument lights come on and then go off but the engine light glows amber and goes off when the engine is started. Does this mean there is a problem with the engine?

Don't think so. Maybe the battery is weak and the system is devoting as much as possible to the glow plugs and the starter motor.
