What's wrong with my Vauxhall Meriva's alarm?

I have a 2004 Vauxhall Meriva Design CDTi and every morning in the early hours my car alarm goes off for no reason, and just recently it has started going off during the day. When I deactivate it, it then goes off again (even though the car isn't locked) until I start the engine. I have replaced the batteries in my key fobs so I know its not that.

There is a fault with these, and a dealer fix.

I have a 53-Plate Vauxhall and every night the alarm goes off at 3am. Why is that? I have disconnected the battery, but it's too much hassle if you need to go out early in the morning.
I have a Nissan Terrano TDI. The alarm system, when activated, will only set off the lights. There is no sound. Is there a fuse for the sounder?
