7-speed lightweight twin dry clutch DSG not reliable. 6-speed high torque twin wet clutch DSG reliable as long as the fluid and filter are changed every 4 years. New 7-speed high torque twin wet clutch DSG should be as reliable as the 6-speed (and works much better). 7-speed high torque longitudinal twi wet clutch s-tronic (in Q5s, etc) has had some problems. Ford twin dry clutch 6-speed Getrag Powershift has had significant clutch pack problems. Ford twin wet clutch high torque 6-speed Getrag Powershift is as reliable as VAG's 6-speed twin wet clutch DSG as long as the fluid and filter are changed every 4 years.
