Will air con removal improve my Citigo's performance?

Is it a good idea to pay to get the air con compressor and associated components removed to reduce weight and improve performance in a Skoda Citigo? Will it provide a noticeable weight difference and therefore improve all round performance?

Can be done at some cost but will considerably devalue the car and will not make a significant difference from driving with the a/c off anyway.
