Mini restoration nightmare - what are my rights?

Our classic Mini has been restored at a cost of £8500 in parts and labour. However, since getting the car back, we've discovered that it doesn't run. It also has a huge list of faults,

We feel genuinely let down and basically conned and exploited. So please the advice on the steps we need to take if this individual will not take the car back to sort the faults at his expense?
