Need a new car with a large flat load bay

We need to replace our 12 year old Citroen C5 2.2 HDI Exclusive that has the luxury of a top end car, a super smooth drive and the space of a decent sized van. The new car needs to take a two metre long model aeroplane or a six foot long by three foot wide wooden stand.

The new C5s have shrunk and the Skoda Superb doesn't accommodate either the plane or stand, plus the floor isn't flat. So far, the only car we have seen that even comes close is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but we cant quite afford one of those. Do you have any suggestions?

Check out the new Ford Mondeo Estate. Otherwise you might have to start thinking van. The things you want to carry are light, so a high load platform might not be a problem. A Ford Grand Tourneo Connect might do the job: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-tourneo-.../
