Is there a known problem with the Fiat 500?

BBC 1's Watchdog programme featured a viewer with a 2014 Fiat 500 which was not able to maintain speed in climbing a local hill. The owner had been back to Fiat with the problem and they said there was 'nothing wrong with the car, only the way it was being driven'.

Isn't it about time Fiat recognised this problem and put it right? I was thinking of purchasing a Fiat Panda with this engine, I'm not sure now, what do you think?

See the FIAT 500 entry in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar . I raised this with them on 17-8-14. Got a reply on 30-9-14. They denied the software fix, yet readers have had it done and it fixes the car.
