Is this part-exchange of my Audi A4 Avant for a TT a good deal?

I am considering buying a new Audi TT from my local main dealer. The deal on offer is: Purchase new Audi TT Coupe 2.0T FSi Quattro Sport S Tronic. List price £29,420, options: Metallic paint £500, Bluetooth £245 and multi-function steering wheel with paddle shift £180. Total list price £30,345. My p/x is a July 2009 Audi A4 2.0TDi SE Avant Multitronic, 10,000 miles with metallic paint, DVD satellite navigation and Bluetooth. I am the second owner, bought secondhand as a demonstrator from another Audi main dealer.

The price to change is £10,000 for a factory order and October delivery, this includes a private plate transfer fee and a full tank of fuel. The dealer says this includes a discount, but takes into account waiting time of four months for delivery and future depreciation of my A4. I would very much welcome your view on whether this is a good deal or not.

The TT is expensive, but Audi dealers are supporting high residuals on late TTs so they aren't being sold off cheaply. Right now your '09 A4 trade books at £23,325, but it will obviously be less by October. If I was you I would take your private plate off the Avant and put it onto a retention certificate before making the swap. That avoids the horrible nightmare that getting a dealer to do it for you can involve.
