If I keep my BMW X5 are there any potential problems I should look out for?

My car is a 2004/54 BMW X5 diesel Sport auto, facelift. I bought it seven years ago at eighteen months old. Apart from a new starter motor the car as been faultless. I’ve considered a new X3, but as my X5 has done only 38,000 miles, has been BMW serviced and looks good, what should I do? If I keep it, in your opinion are there any major problems to look out for.

See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/bmw/x5-e53-2000/?sec...d The inlet manifold swirl flaps might break off, get sucked into the engine and wreck it. Worth having them removed, but only by someone who knows what he is doing.
