How can young drivers protect their insurance premiums?

I am a Northern Irish male resident who holds a full motor vehicle and motorcycle driving licence and have seen your recommendations for cars for a 21-year-old. I have just turned 22 and have been in a road traffic accident (which the police did not attend due to their limited resources) that was not my fault. I was driving my own 5-Series BMW that I worked and saved hard for. Is there nothing young drivers can do to insure a lower premium without having to compromise safety?

Telematics insurance, details at the bottom of this directory: www.honestjohn.co.uk/useful-websites/tax-insurance.../

It's a permanent spy in the cab so they always know exactly how you are driving, where and when. How else would they know? A defensive measure increasingly being adopted is to fit a dash or screen mounted camera
