Ford Galaxy refuses to start

My 1999 Ford Galaxy 2.3 petrol automatic won’t start. I’ve turned the key, but nothing happens. I've tried charging the battery and using jump leads, but still nothing. Can you help?

If the lights go on brightly, this reads like a jammed starter motor.
