Is the Nissan X-Trail susceptible to timing chain problems?
The timing chain has broken on my Nissan X-Trail. The fault causes the engine to blow, even though it had only done 95,000 miles. I was under the impression that diesels should be good for more than 200,000 miles. Should I buy another X-Trail or is this a common fault?

If you have the current model 2.0DCI, then that is a Renault engine fitted to millions of cars and vans and this is the first time I have heard of timing chain failure on it. Will note. But timing chain engines demand frequent oil changes. Very foolish to delay these past 10k miles. Will note your failure in car by car.
