Ford Grand C-Max - Diesel or Ecoboost ??

I'm considering buying the Ford Grand C-Max (Titanium) but I'm torn between engine choices. My wife uses the car mainly for short runs (3 miles in busy stop/start traffic) but at the weekend we use it on the motorway for longer runs (100+miles). We also use it to travel 4000 miles to Croatia in the summer. I prefer a car that has good pulling power (to confidently overtake). Our current vehicle that has had the EGR valve changed several times.

The question is - should I go for the 1.6 Ecoboost or one of the diesels (to avoid DPF problems)?

Does the 1.6 Ecoboost have a Dual Mass Flywheel (This also went on our current diesel)?

Better the 1.6 EcoBoost. Also quite economical. We got 43mpg out of it in a huge Mondeo estate over 1,000 miles.
