New Audi A6 gasket problem

Bought a new Audi A6 in June 2012 (in Finance). On 29 December 2012, we drove the car and after a mile we noticed a lot of white smoke getting out of the exhaust. The white smoke was so much that we decided to go back home. We called Audi straight away and they advised us to call RAC.

RAC arrived an hour later and they noticed that the coolant was below the minimum level. After further inspection RAC concluded that the EGR was faulty. I drove the car to my dealer with RAC following me and RAC gave me a ride to pick up a courtesy car (at Europcar).

I got a Vauxhall Insignia which seemed to have been poorly driving in the past (not pleased but at last I was able to move around). On monday 02/01/2013 got a call from the dealer saying that the EGR will be replaced and that I should be able to pick up the car on Wednesday 04/01/2013.

On Wednesday we got a call from the dealer and advised us that the gasket of the car needs to be replaced and that they will not get the part before 2 weeks time. We complaint about the faults for a brand new car which has less than 4,000 miles and were told that this is why the car is under warranty. As the car was going to stay at the dealer for another 2 weeks we complaint about the car given and we have been given an Audi Q3.

As the car was bought in June 2012 and is less than 4,000 miles and we are having issue with gasket/coolant is the car fit for purpose? Shall we reject the car? Please advise.

Because they are fixing the car and keeping you mobile in the meantime you can't reject it. But if they fail to fix it, or the repair goes wrong, then you can reject it for a full refund under Clegg v Olle Anderson 2003 Supreme Court.
