Parking sensors always beeping

As I put my Vectra into reverse the parking sensors immediately start beeping constantly, as if telling me I am near a obstacle without any obstacles behind me. I put it back in to neutral and it stops.

What is the problem as its only just started happening today?

Dirt on the sensors or moisture ingress to them.
