Thinking of buying 2013 Golf - do the lower powered cars have simpler rear suspension?

Rumour has it that lower-powered versions have simpler rear suspension to save cost. Are you planning to road test one to see how much difference it makes to ride and handling?

VW has done this to the Mexican-built Jetta to get the car under a price point for USA consumption. We'll take a look under the back of a Golf VII 1.2TSI to see if is has just a simple twist beam back axle.
