My Volkswagen Caravelle T5 vibrates when accelerating
I bought a T5 Caravelle second hand last year. All was fine until we did a long journey to Cape Town (we live in Namibia) and before heading back the car started vibrating when accelerating.
In CT we were told its the tie rod we need to have it replaced when back in Namibia. This we did - replaced both tie rods (cost me GBP 500.00).
The problem persists, now I was told that the bearings are loose - and they don't sell them separate I need to buy a new rear shaft (another GBP 1000.00). This does not make sense to me - what is your opinion can these worn bearings cause the vibration?

Very difficult to diagnose without actually seeing/hearing the vibration.
Does the vibration only happen on acceleration, does it happen at a particular speed, does it do it when you free wheel (disengage the drive)?
Would not go and change bearings at this moment in time.
Do you have a Volkswagen dealership close at all? If so would check with then first.
