Diesel injector problems with a Peugeot Expert
I recently changed the fuel filter on my Peugeot Expert 1.9[non turbo] 03 van. It has a lucas injector pump and the filter housing has the zip tie type clamp to secure the lid to the housing.
Since changing the filter it has had constant deisel knock and the engine management light comes on sparodically.I assumed it was drawing air into the deisel so changed the housing and push on fuel pipe connectors but to no avail.
Next I connected the fuel feed straight to the injector pump to eliminate any air draw problems and now it runs fine but on driving it it cuts out, showing the engine management light. Since there is no fuel pressure regulator like on the HDi version am I to assume my injector pump is knackered?

No, would not condemn the injector pump at this stage. Given that you have the engine management light coming on it is telling you that a fault exists. The best course of action now would be to get the engine on a diagnostic check, which hopefully will identify what the problem is.( Should get a code P ---- 4 numbers.)
