How did an accident management company get my details following an accident?

Since having my car written off in a non-fault accident in May of this year, I have had three phone calls from ‘Claims Management’ companies wishing to manage a claim for compensation on my behalf. I see this as an unwarranted intrusion into my personal affairs; I have no need of compensation. My insurance company (Swiftcover) dealt with my case in a totally efficient and professional manner, obtaining a satisfactory payment for my lost vehicle with no impact on my no-claims discount and without me have to pay any "excess".

When will the Government and the insurance industry act to ban these parasites who prey on the vulnerable and greedy to pursue un-justified compensation claims? Where did they get my contact details from? Swiftcover assure me it was not from them. Maybe from the company who recovered my vehicle from the scene of the accident? Maybe from the RAC who handled my immediate need for assistance? The end result is increases in insurance premiums for the rest of us.
