Fading memory

I am shortly to take delivery of a new VW Polo, and have decided against my better judgement to order flash red paintwork. The last car I had with red paint was a Peugeot some 20 years ago, but it suffered from crazing and fading of the paint. Is this likely today and if so is there anything I can do to stop it happening?

VAG solid reds have now been lacquer coated to help prevent oxidation for at least 12 years.
