Jaguar or Lexus?

Recently retired and want to buy a used car that has a very comfortable ride.

I have considered a Jaguar XF or Lexus IS250 but would welcome your opinion and/or further recommendations.

Budget £25-28K, mileage 7-8K

Having spoken to salesmen for Jaguar and Lexus they tell me that their customers who own a diesel and do approx 6K mileage have not experienced problems with the Particulate Filter.

Is this a case of 'they would say that anyway' or do Jaguar and Lexus fair better in this respect?

The Lexus IS250 auto is beautifully smooth and refined. Rides much better on 16" wheels than 18" or 19". There have been DPF problems with S-Type 2.7 V6 diesels. Have yet to hear of them on XFs. The best car is the XF 3.0V6 diesel, even if you have to downspec to get one for the money.

Wonderful and bespoke feeling interior. Amazingly quiet and refined. More economical 2.2 diesel from 2011. Navigation not fitted as standard on most models.
Very well built. Top quality interior. Lexus dealers are best in the business. Impressive refinement. All engines chain cam. IS250 probably the most reliable car you can buy.
