Claiming back against a thief
The other day my Range Rover was broken into, the thief attempted to take it away. The offender was caught in the act.
A registered recovery vehicle was used and the driver supplied the tools to break into the vehicle. The driver was winching the car on board when they were stopped and the police called.
The driver and company say they were doing the removal legally as the offender told them I owed him money (I do not know this person).
The offender approached the company with no V5 and no keys, and they were quite happy to take it away on his word.
The car is now scrap due to the damage. What rights do I have against this car recovery company?

Use the small claims track of the county court to sue them for your loss. They actually did the damage. It does not matter that they were doing it on someone else's orders. They did it.
