Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris automatics, what is the best option?

I'm in the hunt for an automatic car with a max budget of £7,500. I've shortlisted the Jazz and the Yaris but would love some clarification on which engines are the best as there are so many for each.

Yaris
The 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid seems to be the go to here but is the 1.3 CVT (multidrive I think) just as good? The insurance costs are significantly cheaper with the 1.3 and there seems to just be more available.

Jazz
Is the hybrid Jazz (2011 - 2015) a good option or should I stick to the 1.4 (08 - 15) or 1.5 (15 - 20) non-hybrid versions?

A lot of questions but all these options are quite confusing.

All the options you are looking at would make a good choice, it is more a matter of what suits you best as to which you should choose. If fuel economy is a priority then the hybrid versions of both the Jazz and Yaris will offer superior economy. However, the standard petrol versions of the Yaris and Jazz should be cheaper to buy and still offer good economy.
