What different gearboxes does the MINI Countryman automatic come with?

Please clarify the type(s) of automatic gearbox fitted to the 2019 MINI Countryman? My research throws up conflicting information. A long thread about Steptronic transmission has multiple (unchallenged) postings describing it as 'conventional' or 'epicylic' (with manual override). But a search elsewhere shows the automatic 2019 Countryman as having "Steptronic with double clutch". Wiki refers to some models as having "8-speed automatic (or) 7-speed DCT". Is there a way to nail it down for a specific car from its numberplate?

Unfortunately the automatic gearbox options in the MINI Countryman vary depending on the year of manufacturer and the engine fitted. However, versions fitted with 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmissions are conventional autos, while those with a seven-speed auto have a dual-clutch gearbox.
