What impact will Euro 7 emissions regulations have?

I have seen that Euro 7 is programmed for 1st July 2025. The requirements for this are greatly beyond Euro 6. Is this definitely the future for the UK or is this just Europe? I see that the City of Oxford already operates this i.e that they are Zero Rated so only Electric Vehicles conform but they say they will honour Blue Badges. Bristol also operates the same as does Portsmouth but all honour the Blue Badge. However having consulted Transport For London they will not even reply.

At present it's too early to say what the impact of Euro 7 will be on the ordinary motorist and the government's recent announcement to defer the ban on sales of ICE cars to 2035 means the goalposts may yet be moved again. However, we can be in no doubt that it is coming and will inevitably be adopted by all car manufacturers, so realistically we need to prepare for it. We can expect Clean Air Zones and Ultra Low Emissions Zones to change charging structures to accommodate Euro 7 and beyond. However, it would be unreasonable to expect everyone to drive a Euro 7 vehicle by 2025 in such a short timeframe.
