Will the value of my car be affected if it is on a 23 plate rather than a 73 plate?

I ordered a new Ford Focus in April. The dealer gave an estimated delivery of September/October. This suited me fine, having a new 73 registration. The dealer has now informed me that the car has arrived at the dealership and requires to hand it over to me now, with a 23 plate, on receipt of full payment.

If I sell this car on, privately, in say three years time, would there be a different value between it having a 23 plate or 73 plate?

Although it would be preferable to have the later registration on your new Focus, in three years time any potential purchaser will be looking at the year of first registration rather than the registration plate, so we would not expect any difference in value - if there is one - to be significant.
