Is the Skoda Yeti the right car for me?

I am interested in buying a Skoda Yeti. I have a budget of up to £10,000. We drive a max of 5000 miles a year and are not off-roaders in any sense! Would you recommend this car or are there others that fit the roomy and practical mould set by the Yeti. Are there any significant Yetis, or others, to avoid. We are in our late seventies so will be keeping it for some time.

The Skoda Yeti is a good choice if you are looking for a roomy and practical car. Although some versions have some off-road ability there are also several versions that are front-wheel-drive only, which means better fuel consumption. We would suggest going for a petrol version given your low annual mileage - a 1.2 TSI in SE-L or Elegance specification gives a good amount of equipment and this engine is also available with the DSG transmission if you prefer an automatic over a manual.
