Ford - car that got under your skin 8 Jul 2009 (Forum)

Anorak question 19 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I was looking at some old Fords on e-bay and trying to remember some of the colours that were current around the time of the Cortina 1600E in the late sixties. Silver Fox, Blue Mink , Saluki Bronze come to mind. Then there was that metallic pink, was it Oyster ? Anyone help out? -
Biggest impovement on manufactures' model change? 26 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I'd vote for Cortina to Sierra. My company Cortina needed a new clutch every 20,000 miles, a new gearbox at 65,000 miles , a new diff at 80.000 and new discs every 30,000miles. It was completely knackered at 90,000 miles. My Sierras (two of them) did 135,000 miles and 140,000 miles with very little -
VIN checker now costs 23 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Re autobaza.pl It would appear that this service now costs. A response like this: MODEL TAURUS, CORTINA, SIERRA, MONDEO, COUGAR is not a lot of use. Oh well it was good while it lasted for free. The Ford site does still expand from a nunber plate. -

BBC 4 Tonight (Saturday) 11 Sep 2005 (Forum)
For those who have digital. 7.05 tonight BBC 4 are showing The Secret Life of The Ford Cortina. First screened in 1982 as part of the Arena series it is interesting and at times very funny. I caught the second half of it when they ran it earlier in the week. A great piece of eighties nostalgia. -
Oil Filters 7 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I have a quantity of MotorCraft oil filters, part no EFL 90, which were originally intended for the 2 litre OHC Pinto engine fitted to the Ford Cortina range. These filters look the same physical size as those fitted to the 2.5 litre Ford DI Deisel in the Transit. The filter part number quoted -

What next for Ford after the 1.0 Ecoboost.... 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
.................engine going in Focus size car. Well, apparently according to Ford engineers the next stage is downsizing of the cars themselves, and that means weight reduction and less drag. I say about time! Mondeo/Sierra/Cortina man no longer buys a Mondeo, because its the size -

The Morris Marina topped the list of Melting Motors revealed yesterday (article dated 31st Aug 2006), with only 745 left on the road out of the 807,000 sold in the UK. Second place in the table compiled by Auto Express is the square-fronted Mark IV and V Ford Cortina, popular because it was cheap -
Why do tyres blowout? 6 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I have only had one blowout, it was years ago in a Ford Cortina and was caused by a small sharp rectangle of metal being thrown up by the offside front wheel and going on to slice through the sidewall of the rear offside: Bang! I have heard of many blow-outs and often there is an obvious cause -

Peugeot 807 - first sighting? 18 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I am pretty sure I saw a Peugeot 807 yesterday - being driven through Ipswich in convoy with a Renault Vel Satis. Quite a striking sight. Expect an article next month in one of the motoring mags - 'Big Funny Looking French Cars - Group Test'. Saw a Ford Fusion as well, in a metallic beige/brown
