Vote Starts At Leyland
By Geoffrey Goodman

A unique ballot to decide the fate of the ailing Leyland motor giant begins today . All 165,000 employees will get a ballot paper at their homes this weekend. It asks one question .

" Do you give your support to BL's recovery plan?"

In a leaflet accompanying the ballot paper, the BL boss Sir Michael Edwardes says that a Yes vote is the only way to secure the firm's future.

A No vote would set the company on a very grim course - meaning the break-up of BL.
