AUSTIN-MORRIS NEWS
The engine tuners at Cowley went back to work yesterday after suspending their month long strike, but some of them stopped work because of a new dispute. The tuners in the South Works, where Marina's are produced, protested about the use of other workers in the car assembly plant to replace flat car batteries.

The men went back to work after lunch and talks on their latest grievance are continuing.

TRIUMPH NEWS
Three hundred foremen of British Leyland's two triumph plants at Speke, Liverpool, walked out on a token one day strike yesterday. The foremen stopped work in support of a claim for parity with foremen doing similar work at Coventry and to maintain a differential over clerks.
