Triumph lay-offs

At British Leyland's Triumph car plant in Liverpool 3,250 workers are laid off because of a strike by 70 internal drivers over the dismissal of one man and Toledo car production is halted. Unless management talks with the unions produce a settlement many thousands of Triumph car workers in Coventry could face lay-offs next week.
