DAILY EXPRESS
A Strike hit a component factory in Reading, Berkshire, bringing trouble to Rovers at Solihull, Warwickshire and Jaguar's at Coventry. Rover 2000 production will be halted today and 400 men will be laid off. About 1,000 will be idle on Monday. Jaguar's sent home 1,500 men yesterday.
All light commercial vehicle production at British Leyland's factory in Adderley Park, Birmingham, has come to a halt and 440 men were laid off indefinitely.
