Austin 1100 launched today

The Austin version of the BMC 1100 ADO16 is announced today.
Production of the BMC 1100 is now running at 5500 a week, and coupled with a weekly output of 6000 Minis, gives the corporation a world lead in the manufacture of front-wheel-drive cars. More models based on the ADO 16 principle are being planned at Longbridge.
