Jaguars Dismiss Two Guys Directors
18 October 1961
FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT
WOLVERHAMPTON. OCT. 17
Just one week after Jaguar Cars Ltd. bought Guy Motors Ltd., of Wolverhampton, the two sons of the founder of Guys, Mr Robin Guy, aged 37, technical director, and Mr Trevor Guy, aged 32. director in charge of service, have been dismissed.
They were handed cheques for a month's salary. Mr Robin Guy said tonight: "My brother and I were both sacked."
Mr Robin Guy, who had been with Guys for 20 years, began his service in the drawing office. Mr Trevor Guy had been with the firm for 12 years: Mr. Sydney Guy, their father, retired as chairman and managing director four years ago and the family link is maintained now only by Mr Tony Guy, his nephew, who is the general sales manager.
