Buying a classic car

I have a budget of £20k and would like to buy a car that may appreciate or at least hold its value.

A classic car from the 60's or 70's as a second car for weekend and dry day use. I would like to have four seats even if small and something that has credibility. I have considered old Mercedes and Porsche mainly. I have also considered (although slightly over the budget) Aston Martin V8 Vantage early models with a little higher mileage. What suggestions would you have?
