Where is the amp in my Rover 75?

I have a 2005 Rover 75 and am looking to fit a sat nav unit radio. I was told the amp is in the boot area. I’ve had both left and right panels stripped out do not see anything in there other than the reverse bleeper unit - there's also nothing in the spare wheel well. I have purchased the unit and extension cable and been told to run to boot area through to the radio. Do you have any ide of where else the amp is situated in this car?

It depends on two things – the specification of the car and the type of radio fitted. Early Rover 75s had a BMW-derived amp that was mounted in the boot and we think you may have been misinformed here, as that would tally with the original advice. Later 75s mostly came with a simpler Kenwood or Blaupunkt-derived stereo that didn't have an external amp. If the radio you have includes a standard ISO-type connector plug then it should, in theory, work without being wired into an amp.
