The first Sywell Classic - Pistons & Props was certainly an interesting addition to the classic car event calendar. The weekend event, held at the end of summer, held at the busy Northamptinshire aerodrome, had a interesting mix of classic cars, racers and aeroplanes.

The two-day event attracted 13,163 visitors, and had a fascinating mix of classic cars displayed by more than 50 clubs. This was no typical classic car show, with lots of static exhibits in a field - there were historic racers and dragsters, many of which were run up the sprint strip and racing runway. In addition, the skies were busy were aerobatic displays, flypasts, and the spectacular Breitling wing walkers, and overall, it really was a genuinely delightful nostalgic event.

The organisers are so happy with the event, next year's date is confirmed for 27-28 September 2014.
