Simon Light Ltd, Ware

I have used Simon Light for several years now, for sales and servicing of my B Class and found them to be courteous, friendly and efficient. Due to Covid 19 I am still being medically advised to continue shielding and they went out of their way to organise the collection and delivery of my car which they cleaned and sanitised for me. Thank you S.L. particularly Neil and James. I have no problem with their pricing which is clearly shown on their web site and would thoroughly recommend them.

This Garage specialises in Mercedes Benz service & repairs in fact everything to keep your Mercedes in tip top condition. I have been using Simon Light for the past 5 years or so but have known about them for the past 20 years. I have chosen to write about them funnily following a bit of a disagreement I had with them last year. I had been using them on a regular basis for the past 4 or 5 years & they always have given me excellent service. Also, when I had broken down I had the Towing Company drop off the car at Simon Light Ltd at 9pm & I pushed a note along with the keys through the letter box. At 9am the next day I received a telephone call giving me a detailed repair cost quotation & by 1pm the suspension was fixed costing under £200(Speedy or what!) The disagreement I mentioned happened last year. Basically, I had been charged for an item that I had not had, or, received. Being rather hot headed and incensed at this, I fired off a letter to Mr Simon Light the owner telling him in no uncertain words how badly I felt. I received a really nice but more importantly a genuine personal reply. Mr Lights letter was really detailed & he obviously wanted to put right the mistake & keep me as a customer. I was immediately refunded without question the disputed sum & I was also offered a FREE SERVICE when it was next due. Simon Light only service & repair Mercedes as a 'Specialist' rather than an Approved dealer, I chose them because their repair & labour charges are far lower than an Approved Mercedes Dealer. I only have the one Merc, so Im not exactly putting lots of work their way & they could have quite easily told me to go away or just ignored my complaint. I chose to take my car to Simon Light Ltd despite them being some 10 to 15 miles away from my home as I had several friends with Mercedes cars who used them for many years. They told me how Simon Light Ltd gave them personal service along with exceptional knowledge, service & experience, not to mention their reasonable charges. Earlier this week I returned to Simon Light Ltd to have my 'free service' expecting a rather frosty reception. However, the level of service I received from Steve(Service Dept) & other members of the staff could not have been bettered, they made every effort not only to welcome me but also to apologise for the error(over a year ago) They made me feel at ease & comfortable whilst also ensuring the car was serviced, I was advised of work needed and safety issues. Professional to the last! Being an ex Service Manager myself, although not in the Automotive Trade, I feel I can judge Simon Light fairly, accurately & honestly. I only recommend a company if I feel that they are offering something above the 'norm' or they offer something other companies don't. Simon Light Ltd offer Mercedes owners something very special indeed:- Good old fashioned customer service, fairness, excellent back-up & experience, superb Mercedes experience, great staff. Oh, they also sell/have small selection of used Mercedes Cars with prices from £4k to £40k Another way I judge a company is that you really know how good or bad they are when something like this goes wrong & how they deal with it. In this case Messrs Simon Light Ltd proved themselves as being worthy of recommendation and show professionalism, decency & good old fashioned 'customer service' If you have a Mercedes, live in Hertfordshire, Essex or North London & need somewhere to have it looked after & serviced then take it to Simon Light Ltd, Ware(Nr Hertford) Hertfordshire.
