Shell diesel fuel pricing

I follow your advice in the Telegraph to avoid buying supermarket fuels and buy Shell as you recommend because of the ad alwaysditives therein. However, there are two grades of diesel sold in my local Shell station and I have bought the more expensive one carrying a 10p/litre premium.

Can you please advise the difference between the two grades, which I should buy and why?

Shell Fuelsave diesel is supposed to give better economy. But I'm not doing particularly well on it. Shell V-Power diesel has an excellent additive package, improving the cetane of the fuel, cleaning the fuel system and providing lubricity to the high pressure pump and injectors. Petrochemists reckon that is the best additive package of any diesel fuel.
