1956 Ferrari 290 MM by Scaglietti

Ferrari’s sports-prototype racing cars are among the most legendary in motorsport history but it is the Works cars that are considered the 'Holy Grail'. The Works Ferrari Prototypes were campaigned in the World Sportscar Championship with enormous success, on the greatest circuits, with the greatest drivers at the wheel.

This example took part in the 1956 Mille Miglia with Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheel and finished fourth overall. It was sold with an extensive and documented racing history. Oh and a 320bhp, 3490cc V12 engine with triple Weber twin-choke carbs.

Sold For $28,050,000 (RM Sotheby's New York 2015)
