1956 Aston Martin DBR1

The first of five DBR1s, this car was the winner of the 1959 Nürburgring 1000KM. A sister car to the 1959 Le Mans winner, it was raced in period by the biggest names: Roy Salvadori, Stirling Moss, Jack Brabham, and Carroll Shelby, among others.

This example was fitted with the correct reproduction engine for racing, but came with its original lamp. The car was maintained by Aston Martin specialists RS Williams.

Sold for $22,550,000 (RM Sotheby's Monterey 2017)
