Top 10: Cars sold at Classic Car Auctions' October sale

A total of 115 classics went under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions' October sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre. Modern classics proved to be hot lots as a VW Golf Sportline, BMW 735i, Mercedes E55 AMG, Ferrari 348, and Audi Quattro achieved strong prices.

1974 Ford Capri Mk1 RS3100

Introduced in September 1973 to homologate the Capri for European Touring Car racing, theRS3100 had a 3091cc AVO-developed Essex V6, fuelled through a Weber 38DGAS carb, that produced 148bhp and 187lb/ft. Restored in the 1990s by Phil Boote, then RS3100 Registrar/RS Owners’ Club, it is now finished in Modena Green decaled in gold around the power bulge and rear panel. It has the correct RS3100 flared arches, front splitter, rear wing, twin tailpipes and four-spoke alloys. It is showing 48,000 miles; comes with boxes of paperwork, magazine articles/features, and restoration photographs.
