1972 Maserati Boomerang concept car

This outlandish looking Giugiaro designed concept was first shown at the 1971 Turin Motor Show. Using the underpinnings of the 4.7-litre Bora coupe and a 300bhp engine it boasted a top speed of 186mph. A true one-off, with its wedge shape that would come to characterise Guigaro’s future cars, the Boomerang sold for £2.4 million at Bonhams’ first Chantilly Concours sale in September.
