Vauxhall VX220 VXT

0333 344 2329
ID 8921

Guildford, Surrey

Definitely a future classic, the VX200 was a collaboration between Lotus and General Motors. Built alongside the Elise at the Lotus factory at Hethel in Norfolk, the VX220 shared the Lotus stiff, aluminium chassis and most suspension and steering components. Hence the Vauxhall is a Lotus with a Vauxhall badge. So if you don’t care about that – and, let’s face it, any sensible person shouldn’t – then the VX220 is rarer, easier to drive, more powerful (0-60 in 5.6 seconds), has ABS and airbags, and hence represents terrific value and a cast-iron investment. However, many VXTs have either been used as track-day toys, been crashed on the road, or have been neglected, left outside in the winter, and hence have bodywork problems or chassis damage. Not this one: This is just about as good as any we have seen. New on 1st March arch 2004, two owners, 24,400 miles. Always kept inside and hence bodywork and paint in fantastic condition. The MOT history shows low, regular use and the service history is perfect. Great opportunity to buy a really nice, low-mileage VXT.

Reviews

Lotus Elise-based sports car with stronger engines, better equipment and more forgiving handling. A hoot to drive.
