1974 Ford Cortina 1600 XL Stunning condition, absolutely mint throughout. 3owner Laid up since 1995. Full nut & bolt (stainless) restoration. Many new old stock parts. Very good original shell, Fully bare metalled. New Inner and outer rear arches, original sills,inners,steps, doors, A-posts, all 4 jacking points, chassis rails etc, all where solid. Had new wings before being laid up. All epoxy primed inside out upside down , double high build primed, original Daytona in 2k. All new rubbers: windows, channels, doors etc. All new chrome nos Ford door handels, bumpers & underiders re chromed to a very high standard. All the stainless re polished. Nos Lights. Loom stripped cleaned & re-wrapped. All original running gear 2k painted, new: gaskets, seals, alternator, cambelt, water pump , radiator, hoses, coil etc. New exhaust system, everything painted in high temp paint. Suspension stripped & painted 2k, new; bearings, gaskets, seals, master cylinder, callipers, discs, cylinders, shoes , handbrake, clutch & speedo cables, all new genuine fixings. 1/2 polybushed so not to ruin the Cortina feel. Full stainless nuts/bolts washers throughout. original wheels 2k painted with new tyres & hubcaps. Original mint vynal roof! original no: plates. Full interior re-trim new; front seats, carpet & headlining. Its never had mirrors or a radio fitted so no speaker holes either. Probably done 130k but now It’s essentially a brand-new car! Covered less than 500 miles, just to run it in. Drives beautifully, many have said “ its far better than Ford ever did “ a pleasure to drive. Im a professional panel beater sprayer by trade, restored the whole thing myself just because I wanted to give the xtra rare XL a new life, it makes I nice change from all the GXLs. Built in working hours, yes I could have done the same work to an Aston and asked 150k but that’s not me. I built it for the love of FORD… My job is done, its now ready for its new owner to enjoy for another 47yrs. Strictly no timewasters
